Jiffy makes great peanut butter and Welch’s makes great jelly, but in my humble opinion neither should attempt to be an expert in the other. I can’t imagine walking down the grocery isle and seeing a jar of “Jiffy jelly” or “Welch’s peanut butter”. I don’t know that I would trust Jiffy to make great jelly, nor would I trust Welch’s to make great peanut butter. Peanut butter comes from peanuts and jelly comes from fruit. These are two entirely different processes and skill sets. In my simple mind, I don’t know that a good peanut farmer would make a good harvester of fruit.
This is why we have strategic partnerships. I just want a great peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I didn’t mean to exclude Wonder bread and the baker from the above example. To my point, I doubt the baker would make a good farmer of peanuts or harvester of fruit. What’s my point? We can’t be all things to all people. Throughout my career I’ve seen many companies attempt this, but what is often best for the customer is a better together blend of best-in-class solutions – in other words, “peanut butter and jelly sandwiches” made with the very best ingredients. Having a blended solution mix also diversifies your risk. With an “all-in-one” solution, if the ship goes down (e.g. acquisition, business failure, downsizing, etc.), you’re going down with the ship. Can you take that risk?
Branch Messenger (“Branch”) is all about “peanut butter and jelly sandwiches”. Our customers have a lot of needs, and we solve many of them, but not all of them. We have no appetite to be all things to all people. We are the best at what we do and choose to keep our focus on our core competencies. We have no desire to develop a telephony solution, warehousing solution, human capital management solution, and the list goes on…but we welcome the opportunity to partner with any of them to create a “better together” experience for our customers. We want to make great “peanut butter and jelly sandwiches” through our partner ecosystem.
Branch is actively seeking to expand their partner network with a mix of Referral Partners, Value-Added Resellers (VAR), Alliance Partners, and Technology Partners. We’ve made a significant investment and commitment to building out our partner ecosystem to better serve our valued customers. Our partners benefit from a dedicated partner team, robust partner portal, and proven lead registration and opportunity management process. Just as peanut butter and jelly sandwiches are very “sticky” and difficult to separate, partnering with Branch allows you to be “sticky” with your customers.
